As we approach age 40, our eyes may lose the ability to focus on objects up close. It happens to all of us, and this condition is called presbyopia '老花眼'.

Besides the commonly known Progressive prescription lenses, there is also a type of contact lens that enables us to clearly read objects at our habitual reading distance, intermediate objects such as a laptop screen, while being able to also look at distant objects clearly. Multifocal contact lens is designed for clear vision near through far without a need of glasses.
